How to Unprotect a Password Protected PDF Document Easily Using Google Chrome

There are several instances we need to remove the password from a protected PDF document and save it in the unprotected form. This can be easily done using the default "Save As PDF" Print option provided in Google Chrome web browser.

Steps

  1. Open Google Chrome web browser.
  2. Drag and drop the password protected PDF file over chrome or Use Ctrl + O keyboard shortcut to browse and open the desired file. 
  3. It will prompt for the password as shown below. Enter the password and click "SUBMIT".Google Chrome PDF Password Screen
  4. Select "Print..." menu option or Press Ctrl + P keyboard shortcut to open the Print screen.

  5. Print screen will be displayed as shown below. Check if the Destination is "Save as PDF".

  6. If the destination is not "Save as PDF", click "Change" button and select the destination as "Save as PDF" as shown below.

  7. Now click "Save" button on print screen, browse to the desired folder and save the PDF.

Thats it!!! Open the PDF and ensure that PDF is password unprotected!
